Australian firm Sparke Helmore Lawyers has recruited a partner in its Sydney office.

Tim Castle joins the 281-lawyer firm’s commercial and projects group from Gilbert + Tobin, where he was a litigation partner.
Castle focuses on insolvency-related matters. He acted for Australian commodity group GrainCorp in representative proceedings relating to the collapse of derivatives brokerage MF Global in 2011 and Sydney-based private equity fund Pacific Equity Partners in the bankruptcy of the Borders bookstore chain.
He also acts for plaintiffs in defamations suits against media organizations.
Castle joined Gilbert + Tobin in 1999 and became a partner in 2008. He also previously worked at the firm now known as Herbert Smith Freehills.
