Baker & McKenzie and Latham & Watkins have advised Thai Oil Public Co. Ltd. on a $1 billion bond issue.

The refining and petrochemical company, a division of state-owned energy and chemicals conglomerate PTT Group, sold two tranches of dollar-denominated senior notes on the Singapore Exchange. The money raised will be used for general corporate purposes.

Baker & McKenzie Bangkok partner Viroj Piyawattanametha led the team advising Thai Oil on local law, while Latham Singapore partners Michael Sturrock and Timothy Hia advised on U.S. law.

Allen & Overy acted for underwriters Barclays Plc., The Hongkong and Shanghai Banking Corp. Ltd., and Standard Chartered Bank as joint bookrunners and joint lead managers for the transaction.

Baker & McKenzie and Latham represented another PTT entity, PTT Global Chemical Pcl., on its $1 billion bond sale last September, also on the Singapore Exchange. Allen & Overy advised the underwriters on that deal as well.
