Bryan Cave Leighton Paisner and Cleary Gottlieb Steen & Hamilton have both trimmed the amount of lawyers they have promoted to partner this year.
The majority of both firm's promoted lawyers are based in the U.S., with new partners also hailing from London and Singapore among other offices.
