Michigan-founded Dickinson Wright, No. 126 in the 2020 Am Law rankings, rode high-end work in its IP, cannabis and corporate practices and significantly reduced expenses to secure 14.9% growth in profits per partner in 2020, even as revenue ticked up only 2.9% overall.

The firm’s revenue moved up to $255 million from $248 million in 2019, while the firm’s net income jumped an eye-popping 17.8% to just over $85 million, up from $72 million in 2019. 

Profits per equity partner (PEP) hit $671,000.
