Aviation giant Boeing has retained Kirkland & Ellis and McGuireWoods in a federal fraud case, one in which it has agreed to pay more than $2.5 billion as part of a deferred prosecution agreement.

The Justice Department announced Thursday that the company entered into the agreement to settle the criminal charge related to its 737 MAX model aircraft, which was involved in two crashes between 2018 and 2019 that resulted in 346 deaths. A criminal information filed Thursday charges the company with one count of conspiracy to defraud the United States.
