Jim Woolery, the former Cravath, Swaine & Moore dealmaker who recently led the M&A practice at King & Spalding, launched this week a new boutique focused on representing families and family offices in blockbuster transactions.

Woolery and former King & Spalding associate Mathew Saur are the founding members of Woolery & Co., which is premised on the idea that these clients need independent legal advisers who aren’t encumbered by large firm baggage, including conflicts.
