Skadden, Arps, Slate, Meagher & Flom and Goodwin Procter both announced late Thursday they will forego fall bonuses, electing to keep their original bonus schedules. However, firm leaders indicated they would take into consideration other firms’ fall bonuses when they pay their annual bonuses to associates.

In a video sent to firm partners, counsel and associates, Skadden executive partner Eric Friedman said the firm was going to hold off on bonuses until the end of the year, its normal schedule, in part driven by the firm’s desire to allow those hit harder by the pandemic to hit necessary qualifying hours.
