Amid speculation as to which Washington, D.C., firm would be the next to raise salaries to $160,000, Williams & Connolly has reportedly jumped out of the pack and boosted first-year pay all the way up to $180,000. One reason for the firm's sometimes higher base salaries: Unlike most firms, Williams & Connolly doesn't offer year-end bonuses.
