Walnut Creek, Calif., plaintiffs attorney Stanley Casper knows high-profile discrimination suits, and he's getting to know high-volume cases, too. For a little over a decade, his five-attorney firm has been handling more gender discrimination suits against San Francisco Bay Area public agencies. And last month, Casper filed a suit against the Hayward, Calif., police department on behalf of 13 female officers, the largest number of plaintiffs he has ever represented in a gender discrimination case.

His five-attorney firm — Casper, Meadows, Schwartz & Cook — once sued the city of Oakland, Calif., over alleged sexual harassment by Jacques Barzaghi, ex-longtime aide to former Oakland mayor (and current California Attorney General) Jerry Brown. That case reportedly settled for $50,000.
