Parkland Hospital opened its doors in Dallas in 1894 with a singular mission: to provide health care to citizens in need. More than a century later, Parkland Health & Hospital System continues to build on that legacy while moving with purpose toward the future.

Parkland Hospital, which remains the system’s premier facility, is licensed for 968 beds. It averages about 42,600 admissions and 16,400 births annually and includes a Level I trauma center, the second largest civilian burn center in the United States and a Level III neonatal intensive care unit.
