A top photographer has forced a reconsideration of the $472,000 in damages awarded to him by a federal judge after tens of thousands of images he had consigned to an agency, Corbis-Sygma, were lost.

Photojournalist Arthur Grace’s “dissatisfaction with the adequacy” of the damages award by Southern District of New York Judge Denny Chin in Grace v. Corbis-Sygma, 02 Civ. 8597, led him to challenge the finding in the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.
