Krispy Kreme Doughnuts Inc. on Tuesday said that its chief financial officer is leaving the doughnut chain to return to investment banking.
Michael Phalen has been CFO since January 2004 and will return to investment banking in Baltimore.
Krispy Kreme Doughnuts says that it has named Sandra Michel executive vice president and general counsel. Michel replaces Charles Blixt, who has served in the position on an interim basis since September 2006. The company also said that its chief financial officer, Michael Phalen, is leaving the doughnut chain to return to investment banking. He will be replaced effective June 5 by Chief Accounting Officer Douglas Muir, who joined the company in December 2004.
