Pennsylvania's biggest firms have IP practices in Pittsburgh -- Reed Smith, Buchanan Ingersoll & Rooney, and Pepper Hamilton to name a few -- and a number of IP boutiques reside in the Steel City as well. But the practices of the large and small firms are different, with each firm's slice of the market defined by how it adapted to the decline of the steel industry in the 1980s.
