In my last article I talked about “basic hats” of the law librarian, such as reference, collection development and collection management. Now, I will discuss how the basic or traditional librarian hats are evolving into new hats. These build on what we already do, but extend the reach and scope of traditional activities through technology.

The Internet and Web-based resources provide us the means for not only superior information retrieval but also the ability to leverage those resources into innovative collection development, collection management and information dissemination tools.
