A federal appeals court affirmed that Sony/ATV Publishing owns renewal copyrights to late country singer Roger Miller’s songs from 1958 to 1963, but it sent back to the lower court a copyright dispute over his 1964 songs, including “King of The Road.”

Miller, whose other hits include “Dang Me,” “Chug-A-Lug” and “England Swings,” died of cancer Oct. 25, 1992.
