BabyUniverse chairman, chief executive officer and controlling shareholder John C. Textor invested $2 million in shares of the Internet retailer that caters to new and expectant parents.

It was Textor’s second insider purchase since Jupiter, Fla.-based BabyUniverse said in August that strategic options to raise its stock price would be pursued more actively, including possible sale of the 9-year-old company.
