Omnicare and a subsidiary will pay about $52.5 million to settle a Medicaid fraud civil case in Michigan, state officials said Thursday. According to Attorney General Mike Cox, it's the largest Medicaid fraud settlement in state history. Cox said that subsidiary Specialized Pharmacy Services filed Medicaid claims for drugs that weren't used and for patients who had died; Omnicare's settlement contains no admission of wrongdoing. Criminal charges against Specialized Pharmacy's president continue.
