A U.S. court has ruled that Samsung Electronics of South Korea and Matsushita Electric Industrial of Japan did not infringe on each other's patent rights, Samsung said Monday. Japanese electronics maker Matsushita in 2002 sued Samsung, the world's largest maker of computer memory chips, accusing it of infringing patents on dynamic random access memory chip, or DRAM, technology. Samsung then filed a countersuit claiming Matsushita violated its patented technologies.

Samsung said in a filing to South Korea’s Financial Supervisory Service that the federal court in the U.S. state of New Jersey ruled on Friday.
