"Dummies Man" -- the spiky-haired character on the cover of the ubiquitous "For Dummies" line of how-to books -- is turning up in a lot more places thanks to successful licensing. There are about 75 "Dummies" deals in place, of which more than 40 were signed in publisher John Wiley & Sons' last fiscal year. Many licensed products come with a companion book or a branded instructional package. But not every license deal is a keeper; not to be renewed is one for a "Honeymoon Getaway Kit for Dummies."
