The parties in a medical malpractice action that earlier this year resulted in one of the largest Philadelphia jury awards in recent years — $30 million — are seeking court approval to settle the case for $4 million.

The settlement petition in Keenan v. Children’s Hospital of Philadelphia stems from a May high-low agreement reached on the first of the jury’s five days of deliberations following a three-week trial before Philadelphia Common Pleas Judge Victor J. DiNubile.
