Addison, Texas-based Barrett Burke Wilson Castle Daffin & Frappier has selected Mary Daffin as managing partner of the firm. Daffin, who is African-American, says she believes that being good at what you do is what makes women and minority attorneys successful in a profession that is largely male -- and largely white. Although Daffin says she hasn't run across any other African-American female managing partners in Texas, she'd "love to have a network of other African-American women who do this."
