Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld partners Keith Dunsmore and Robin Green and at least 11 attorneys and paralegals in its real estate and finance group have defected to Powell Goldstein. The Atlanta-based firm will open a Dallas office with Green and seven former Akin Gump attorneys. Dunsmore, who is joining the Washington, D.C., office and is returning to PoGo after stints at Kilpatrick Stockton and Akin Gump, says the firm "is perfect for our capital markets group because of their strength in real estate."

Akin Gump Strauss Hauer & Feld took a hit Tuesday when two partners and at least 11 staff attorneys and paralegals in its real estate and finance practice defected to Powell Goldstein.
The move took about a third of Akin Gump’s real estate and finance practice, including lawyers in its Washington, D.C., Dallas and Atlanta offices.
