An entrepreneur who hopes to one day profit from the data locked inside Greenwich, Conn.'s geographic information system is still waiting. Despite a clear win at the state Supreme Court, Stephen Whitaker has not yet received the information he wants -- records from the date he requested them to the present, in a format he can access. The Freedom of Information Commission found that Whitaker was entitled to the data through 2001 and advised him to take that, then make a new request for the subsequent data.

At its June 28 meeting, state Freedom of Information Commissioner Andrew J. O’Keefe looked directly at Stephen Whitaker, who was asking that his 2001 request for the town’s GIS data also include up-to-date records.
