An Orange County, N.Y., lawyer who lost the first round of her challenge to a rule prohibiting political party officials and their law firms from receiving court appointments is taking her case to the 2nd U.S. Circuit Court of Appeals.

Southern District Judge Stephen Robinson, in Kraham v. Lippman, 04 Civ. 1684, granted summary judgment on May 17 to the Office of Court Administration in an action filed by Middletown, N.Y., attorney Bonnie Kraham. She has filed a notice of appeal.
