In response to possible merger rumors between Chicago-based Gardner Carton & Douglas and Drinker Biddle & Reath, a spokesman for the Chicago firm says that he cannot comment on anything involving merger discussions, though he did defend the firm after sources questioned its financial health and group morale. "Our revenues during 2005 were up 3 percent over the prior year," he says. "We have very strong practices within our firm."
