Akerman Brings In 'Disaster Dan' to Help Make a Name in D.C.

Crisis management is a hot area, but is there enough sizzle for Florida-based Akerman Senterfitt to stake out a D.C. practice with two former FEMA directors and thereby get a foothold in the nation's capital? And with lean state budgets, who will pay for a large law firm to help with disaster planning? Daniel Craig, head of Akerman's new practice group, says most states have crawled out of their budget hole, though he admits that most taxpayers don't want to see their money going to lobbying activities.
