International Game Technology has sued Bally Technologies, claiming one of its rival's lines of gambling products infringes on IGT patents. In the lawsuit filed last week in U.S. District Court in Wilmington, Del., the slot maker claims Bally products infringe on at least nine IGT patents. At issue is "Bally Power Bonusing" technology used to reward loyal gamblers. Such systems award bonus points that can be redeemed differently at casinos.
