It’s a safe bet Mick Jagger wasn’t thinking about his attorney when he recorded “(I Can’t Get No) Satisfaction” in 1965. These days, when general counsel hear that familiar riff, they may well be thinking of their outside lawyers — and not fondly.
Satisfaction with outside law firms is “particularly low” right now, according to Marcie L. Borgal, senior strategic analyst at The BTI Consulting Group Inc. in Wellesley, Mass. Her company came to this conclusion after a series of hour-long interviews with more than 200 GCs and deputy and associate GCs at Fortune 1000 corporations.
