In a contest between knowledge of "The Simpsons" and knowledge of the First Amendment, the winners are -- Bart and Homer. Only 25 percent of Americans can name more than one of the freedoms guaranteed by the First Amendment, but over 50 percent can name at least two members of the cartoon family, according to a survey by the McCormick Tribune Freedom Museum. The survey also found people misidentified First Amendment rights. About one in five people thought the right to own a pet was protected.
