Pillsbury Winthrop Shaw Pittman and Thelen Reid & Priest have both raised associate base pay, following on the heels of other firms that have already increased salaries. Pillsbury and Thelen put their own spin on the increases, which start by setting base pay for first-years at $135,000. Meanwhile, several New York firms with offices in the San Francisco Bay Area, among them Weil, Gotshal & Manges; Davis Polk & Wardwell; and Sullivan & Cromwell, have given their associates $20,000 across the board.
