In a new humanitarian law seminar, the Geneva-based International Committee of the Red Cross assembles 40 law students at Belgrade University to study legal aspects of war crimes. In addition to studying the Balkan war of the early 1990s, students legally dissect conflicts associated with 9/11, Northern Ireland and Chechnya, among others. The seminar, featuring lectures by members of the U.N. war crimes tribunal and the Sarajevo war crimes court, ends with a mock international court.
