Joining the ranks of many Supreme Court justices who played key roles on their college law reviews, high court nominee Harriet Miers, in 1968 at Southern Methodist University, wrote an article on a battery case that involved racial discrimination. Unlike most student works that are anonymous, Miers' article has a byline. Her piece reveals a student's curious, forward-thinking legal mind, but nothing about political views or inclinations on the high court, professors and classmates said.
