It was my privilege earlier this year to participate in the Raise the Bar Colloquium sponsored by the Litigation Section of the American Bar Association. Our ambitious goal was to “reclaim the soul and redefine the bottom line of the legal profession.”

The focus of the meeting was working conditions in the legal profession, especially in the large corporate firms that make up the Am Law 200. The participants were a diverse group of private-practice lawyers, corporate counsel, corporate executives, academics and consultants.
