Sensing the need to raise the profile of IP as a career, Townsend and Townsend and Crew is offering scholarships to women and racial minorities who are committed to pursuing a career in patent law. Each $2,000 scholarship will be offered to one student at each of six law schools in the United States. Townsend established its diversity committee two years ago to look at ways to retain minority and women lawyers and to send attorneys out to talk to various law school groups.
