Former University of Alabama football coach Mike Price is just four depositions away from securing the identities of anonymous sources whose descriptions in Sports Illustrated of his alleged sexual escapades preceded his 2003 firing, according to a federal appellate panel.
Instead of targeting reporters who withhold the identities of confidential sources — as occurred in an ongoing national investigation of a leak that identified a covert CIA agent — this ruling potentially lays the responsibility on the media lawyers.
