Jury selection began Wednesday in Tennessee in the murder trial of a roadside amusement park manager charged after a woman plunged 60 feet to her death from a carnival ride. As the ride began, the woman complained about her harness, which investigators later said did not engage. The defendant faces 25 years in prison for second-degree murder as well as two to four years for reckless homicide. The prosecutor said he knows of no similar criminal case ever brought.
