A man accused of shooting fellow deer hunters to death and wounding two others in Wisconsin in November pleaded not guilty Wednesday to six counts of murder and three of attempted murder. Chai Soua Vang, a Hmong immigrant from Minnesota, has suggested he acted in self-defense, telling investigators the victims fired the first shot and berated him with racial slurs. Vang's lawyer said the defense is considering whether to change the plea to not guilty by reason of insanity.
