The Environmental Protection Agency has reported that electronic goods, including computers and related materials, annually comprise approximately 2 million tons of waste in the United States. Even though companies have implemented voluntary recycling programs and there is a bill pending in Congress to promote such recycling, much still needs to be done to address the disposal of this potentially hazardous waste.
