Nexsan Technologies has unveiled an enhanced version of its storage product, with upgrades in capacity and performance. The InfiniSAN ATAboy 2 features a 14-bay enclosure, a private channel for each of the 14 ATA drives and the ability to hot-plug individual drives. Tandberg Data ASA has announced the Tandberg DLT VS Autoloader, a 2U DLT tape autoloader, utilizing the Tandberg DLT ValuSmart VS80 half-height tape drive. It provides 640 GB of compressed capacity and a transfer rate of 21.6 GB-per-hour. Neoware Systems Inc. has introduced the Capio 500 thin client appliance, supporting RDP, ICA, and terminal emulation for connection to Windows, UNIX and MetaFrame servers. Users run Windows-based applications from the server, and manage the appliance using Neoware’s ezRemote Manager software. Dot Hill Systems Corp. announced major enhancements to its SANpath storage networking software, and SANscape storage management software, for SANnet storage systems and appliances. SANpath 3.2 and SANscape 2.4 now provide improved support for the SANnet RAID Blade, Dot Hill’s 1U rack-mountable storage system, and support the new SANnet Axis storage appliances. SolarWinds.Net has released the Engineer’s Edition Toolset 3.3, a bundled suite of network management applications that allows network engineers to monitor, manage and configure their network directly from their workstation. It provides bandwidth management, network discovery and full I.P. address management. Yet Another Software Company has released the gold master CD of Sniff’em, a Windows packet sniffer that monitors and analyzes network traffic. It helps network managers detect and eliminate bottlenecks and other network related problems. Addonics Technologies has introduced the Addonics Combo CDRW/Copier, a stand-alone one-to-one CD duplicator that can also be used as an external CDRW drive, connected to a PC via USB, Firewire or PC card interface. MARCAN Inc. reports that its duplication services division has added general purpose DVD copying to its roster of capabilities. It now can capture virtually any type of media format including audio, video and data, and duplicate it to the DVD-R format. SanDisk Corp. announces: � The new1 GB CompactFlash memory card, a Type I card, stores more than 1000 digital images, more than 20 hours of digital music, or several hours of video. � Toshiba Corp. and SanDisk have jointly introduced a 1 GB NAND flash memory chip. Verbatim Corp. reports: � Verbatim’s family of DataLifePlus write-once and rewritable DVD media has been expanded to include DVD-R, DVD-RAM, DVD-RW and DVD+RW media. � DataLifePlus CD-R discs are 80-minute media providing full-speed 32x recording of audio, video or data, at speeds of up to 4.8 MB-per-second with 32x drives.The media can be used with existing CD drives at speeds ranging from 1x to 24x.
