SAN FRANCISCO – Law.com, the Web’s most comprehensive destination for the legal community, has launched a new online case tracking service aimed at providing lawyers with easy access to California Supreme Court cases, published decisions and depublication orders. The addition is another way law.com offers its users an unmatched suite of tools and services allowing for the efficient, intelligent practice of law via the Web. The California Supreme Court Monitor is part of law.com’s California site, located at www.law.com/ca, under the “Ca. Supreme Court” heading. The monitor’s review granted section displays the current cases by date or subject, making it easy for users to find a specific case or to search for a group of cases related to specific subject matter. This section also contains case summaries with information pertinent to the desired case, such as the lawyers involved or the full text of the underlying opinions. Law.com visitors can also track all new developments in the review process. The decisions section of the monitor gives the user a short summary of each case and access to the full-text version of the outcome. The monitor’s depublication list identifies Court of Appeals decisions originally certified for publication but subsequently deemed to be depublished by the Supreme Court of California. “The California Supreme Court Monitor is an invaluable tool for attorneys and other legal professionals across the country who must keep abreast of the status of pending cases before the highest court of the nation’s most populous state,” said law.com CEO Bill Feid. Law.com California keeps the state’s lawyers up to date with news and case alerts through e-mails sent twice a day. Law.com California is part of a network of sites for each of the 50 states and the District of Columbia. Each site, located at www.law.com/state postal code, contains up-to-the-minute, regionalized legal news, federal circuit and state court decisions and information targeted to the more than 1.5 million legal professionals and law students nationwide.
