Longtime gun ownership and a quiet, helpful attitude were all elements of mass-murder suspect Richard S. Baumhammers’ life, according to Georgia lawyers and others who knew him.

Baumhammers is the immigration lawyer and State Bar of Georgia member suspected in what authorities believe was a racially motivated shooting rampage outside Pittsburgh on Friday that left five people dead and one critically wounded.
