The producers of the Mel Gibson movie "The Patriot" were hit with a federal copyright lawsuit by a military artist who says the studio stole his designs for uniforms worn by colonial Minutemen. Don Troiani claims the producers asked him to design the movie's costumes but balked when he insisted his name appear in the credits. Then, Troiani says, the studio used one of his designs and paid him nothing.
