A lesbian mother has appealed to the Georgia Supreme Court to lift a Walton County judge’s “willful contempt” order that requires her to stop living with her same-sex partner.

Superior Court Chief Judge Marvin W. Sorrells said that Jean Ann Vawter “takes no measures to prevent or screen [her] children’s exposure to the relationship between herself and the same-sex, live-in partner.”
