A self-described "natural born killer" is being tried for murder and 10 other felonies stemming from a crime spree that made national news nearly five years ago. Opening arguments in the trial of Christopher Matthew Smith began Tuesday in Cartersville, Ga. Smith is charged with killing an elderly man and robbing a couple. After he was captured, Smith proclaimed himself a "natural born killer" to local television crews, referring to the Oliver Stone movie of the same name.

Opening arguments in the trial of Christopher Matthew Smith, 22, began Tuesday in Cartersville, Ga. where a judge moved the case, determining an impartial jury couldn’t be seated in Stephens County, site of the crimes.
