Partners at Washington, D.C.-based Howrey & Simon and Houston intellectual property specialist Arnold White & Durkee have approved a merger of the two firms, previously announced in September. The new 440-attorney entity, to begin operations on Feb. 1, will be called Howrey Simon Arnold & White.
Lawyers at Arnold White’s offices in Austin, Texas, and Chicago decided not to be part of the new firm. The Austin office has “a different vision of where IP is going,” said David Parker, managing partner of the office. “We would like to go with a full-service general practice firm.”
