The Pennsylvania Supreme Court is making it difficult for police officers to seize drug evidence under the "plain feel" doctrine. The doctrine allows officers to seize non-weapon-related contraband discovered through their sense of touch during a frisk. Justice Ronald Castille said the decision to suppress drug evidence for defendants in two cases forces police to perform the impossible task of identifying concealed objects as drugs to the exclusion of every other possibility.
