Georgia's largest-ever civil verdict has the blessing of a state trial judge, who ruled last week that the $454 million jury award isn't excessive. Judge James Oxendine also ordered defendant Time Warner Entertainment Co. to post a $454 million supersedeas bond to cover the damages while the case is on appeal. The plaintiff, Six Flags Over Georgia, had asked for a $550 million bond to cover two years' worth of interest as well as the verdict itself. The judge also denied a motion for a directed verdict.
