An eighth grader who was suspended from school for a week afterturning in a paper on “the Planet Jewpiter” has filed suit in U.S. District Courtagainst his teacher and principal, claiming he never intended any anti-Semitic message.

Attorney Daylin Leach of Allentown filed the suit on behalf of BradHerman, 14, and his father, Darrell Herman, of Mertztown, Pa., alleging that thepunishment violated the boy’s constitutional rights. Named as defendants in the suit arethe Brandywine Middle School, its principal, Kathy Johnson, and teacher Penny Kennedy.
