American Home Products (AHP) is preparing a multibillion-dollar settlement to resolve a majority of the lawsuits the company faces over its diet drugs, called fen-phen. But don't expect the more than 3,000 Florida residents who are part of a pair of class action suits to be part of the deal. Instead, they will pursue their claims in court, according to one of the Miami attorneys who represents them. "They're trying to suck up every case," said attorney Ervin Gonzalez about AHP.
