The widow of one of two construction workers killed last year while working on the Philips Arena has filed a wrongful death suit against Turner Sports & Entertainment Development Inc. Tracy W. McCord was killed when a concrete beam broke loose from inside the arena and knocked him to his death. McCord's wife filed suit Thursday, alleging negligence and strict liability. She is seeking funeral and burial expenses and compensatory and punitive damages. Turner Sports is the developer of the arena.

Tracy W. McCord, 32, of Sharpsburg was killed Oct. 2, 1998, when a38,000pound concrete beam broke loose from inside the arena andknocked him to his death. Also killed was Sammie Caraway Sr., 38, ofBarnesville. Both men worked for Williams Construction Co., an arenasubcontractor.
