ATLANTA–The widow of one of two construction workers killed lastyear while working on the Philips Arena has filed a wrongful death suitagainst Turner Sports & Entertainment Development Inc.
Tracy W. McCord, 32, of Sharpsburg was killed Oct. 2, 1998, when a38,000pound concrete beam broke loose from inside the arena andknocked him to his death. Also killed was Sammie Caraway Sr., 38, ofBarnesville. Both men worked for Williams Construction Co., an arenasubcontractor.
